#DULibIntroducing Sunny Moon-Schott

In the next of our series introducing members of staff, #DULibIntroducing meets Systems Developer Sunny Moon-Schott

Sunny Moon-Schott (and friend!)

Please state your name, full job title, and a brief description of what your job entails:

Sunny Moon-Schott, Systems Developer, essentially I help build and maintain all the tools like Discover that keep the library ticking over and allow us all to access and show off our amazing collections.

How long have you worked in the library?

I joined in February of this year.

What would you say is the most interesting/enjoyable aspect of your job?

Aside from my wonderful colleagues, I’d say the most interesting and enjoyable aspect of my job is getting to tinker and build new tools. I love building things and creative problem solving is my jam.

When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?

I always have a project on the go. I really love learning about traditional crafts and consider myself a jack of all trades. I’ve dabbled in chainmail, jewellery making, woodworking and tailoring/sewing to name a few. There’s nothing quite like picking up something new and seeing just how far the rabbit hole goes.

If you could have a superpower what would it be?

The ability to assimilate and understand new information and processes. If you’ve ever seen the film Limitless, that!

Which part of the world would you love to visit and why?

Costa Rica. It’s supposed to be stunning and I would love to tour an ethical cocoa plantation as I make my own chocolate.
