The annual DCAD “Part-time and Distance Doctoral Student” training event took place this week, with doctoral researchers from Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside universities coming together to meet, discuss experiences and participate in a range of workshops delivered by academic and professional support colleagues from across Durham University.
Durham University Library contributed, with 4 workshops on the timetable:
- Effective Searching for Researchers
- Online Profiles for Publishing Researchers (ORCID, Scopus and Google Scholar)
- Tracking your Publication Impact
- Copyright for Researchers

Other sessions looked at a range of topics, including: writing literature reviews, tools for quantitative analysis, public speaking and engagement, project management, time management, survey design, reference management software and preparing for your Viva.
